About The Lab

Our History

The Interbehavioral Research Lab is one of many scientific lineages stretching back to J. R. Kantor's canonical work. Co-directors Will Fleming and Jamiika Thomas both received graduate mentorship from Linda J. Hayes at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR). Jamiika received her master's in 2021, and Will received his doctorate in 2023. In 2024, Will became an assistant professor at McNeese State University (MSU) and established the Interbehavioral Research Lab in 2025. Jamiika is currently completing her doctorate at the University of Nevada, Reno under the advisement of Bethany Contreras.

The lab currently comprises five undergraduate research assistants, Christiana Aseyomi, Katelynn Moore, Nadia Marrero Maring, Ava Melville, and Hisham Bensaadat, graduate research assistants Sofia Melville and Dylan Armentor, our graduate lab manager Alexander Hopes, and lab affiliates Jackson Beeler and Constantin Plumas. Frequent lab meeting visitors and collaborators include Kian Assemi of UNR.
